The Winkelman case was decided 7-2 in favor of parents. So parents will be able to represent their children in court. Details and analysis to follow. It is a great feeling to win and by such a wide margin !

Can't wait to see your analysis of the case! I've posted a bit of a summary and round-up of other posts and articles about it here - http://www.mentaldisabilitylaw.com/?p=30 , and probably will post another as I come across more.

While I appreciate the value of the Winkelman case, my family has had nothing but positive experiences with the regional center in Orange County. It appears Ms. Cabrera's editor has been on an extended vacation and has not noticed her pushing some kind of agenda.
